Celebration Trends to Ring in 2022 - Julie Roehm
It feels like just yesterday that we were welcoming in 2021 with open arms and hopeful hearts — and what a year it has been! I am constantly inspired by the creative ways in which our customers embrace life’s celebratory moments — both big and small, and this year was no different. From returning to in-person gatherings, making hybrid events the new-norm, and continuing to innovate and give virtual events a personal touch, our customers are proof that there was certainly an element of ‘pent-up party.’
Let’s keep the positive momentum going by ringing in 2022 in style. Whether you’re planning a night of glitz and glam, celebrating ‘Noon Years’ with children earlier in the day, or getting ready for a relaxing and cozy night in, Party City is here to make New Year’s bright, serving as the celebrations resource for festivities of all kinds.
Glitz & Glam
Who doesn’t love a glamourous night in? There are so many ways to seamlessly infuse glitz and glam into your at-home New Year’s Eve soirees.
Enforce a formal dress code ensuring that your guests arrive in style! Decorate your home with lavish and sparkly décor — like glittery banners, shimmering confetti and cascading centerpieces, and create a festive photo backdrop with giant 2022 balloons, fun props and wearables. What is a New Year’s Eve party without eyeglasses, headbands and top hats?!
Stock your bar cart with beautiful drinkware and the fixings to make a fun, signature champagne cocktail, and continue the theme with our Bubbly Bar Kit. Play music that will keep your guests on the ‘dance floor’ all night long. Party City is here to make joy easy, and we’ve even done the work for you and curated a killer NYE Party Playlist — all you need to do is hit play and let the good times roll.
A fun trend we’re embracing this year is ‘Noon Years’ — a daytime, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration for all ages, which also ensures the little ones are in bed at a reasonable hour!
Instead of counting down to midnight, countdown to noon with and celebrate with a candy and confetti-filled piñata (…this makes for a great Instagram Story when the piñata finally busts)!
Interactive and educational games are a great way to pass the time as you and your family wait for the clock to strike 12. New Year’s BINGO is sure to please the entire family, and we’ve got lots of fun NYE-themed favors to pass out as prizes.
We know that kids will love being included in the New Year’s Eve festivities, and once they’re asleep you can continue the celebrations through the evening.
Cozy at Home
Personally, I cannot wait to spend New Year’s Eve cozied up around my fireplace at home with family and close friends. After all of the holiday excitement, I really look forward to a low-key night reminiscing and setting intentions for the year ahead.
At Party City, we know that this time of the year can often get expensive, so we’ve developed brand new party kits that have all of the key essentials you need to ring in the new year at home, at value prices! Set up a grazing table for your guests with mixed and matched cutlery, tableware and drinkware to create a comfy-chic atmosphere. Decorate with a mix of confetti, garland, candles and oversized throw pillows and blankets to set the stage.
To really embrace the theme, ask guests to arrive in their coziest attire — chunky sweaters, cozy socks, the comfier the better! I also love serving a warm specialty cocktail — like mulled wine or a hot toddy — to play into the holiday spirit.
Happy New Year!
No matter how you’re planning to ring in 2022, on behalf of Party City, I’d like to wish you and your loved ones a very happy and healthy New Year! We can’t wait to continue to celebrate all of life’s special moments with you next year and beyond.
