Modern Manufacturing - Susan Poeton
I wanted to share the article I just published for Manufacturing Day, traditionally held on the first Friday of October hence this year — Friday October 2nd. This will be Manufacturing Day’s 8th year and something Industry Today has long supported.
The recurring theme, which comes across in the article is nothing new — the skills gap and the need for talent. Highlights include the gender gap — only 29 percent of manufacturing employees are women, as per a recent study by Deloitte, and the 2019 Job Openings and Labor Turnovers Survey by the Department of Labor that reveals more than half a million job openings in manufacturing.
Opportunities abound and a career in manufacturing can be both rewarding and lucrative. We continue to be committed to spreading the word.
